The European Union of Tourist Officers is a unique trans-national networking organisation that offers you the possibility to learn about professional experiences from your peers abroad.

Following the new political evolution in Europe, Euto is re-orienting part of its activities towards the new EU-destinations in Eastern and Southern Europe. The older, established destinations in central and Western Europe can, in this way, put their experience at the disposal of the newer ones, who benefit from this knowledge in developing their tourism sector.

Euto offers a Europe-wide project to enable tourism professionals to benefit from the activities, experiences, work practices and education / training systems that exist within the individual countries.

The programme is designed on a flexible basis. It uses different methods including classroom,  study tours and seminars. Euto will be glad to consider with you any further adaptation to make this project fit perfectly your training and development needs.

A programme of study visits will concentrate on practical lessons to be learned.
Working abroad provides all staff with the opportunity to experience at “first-hand” the different approaches and practices used in another country.

Leonardo

Continuous professional development at a managerial level is essential if the tourism industry and its supporting infrastructure are to remain competitive. To encourage this, an innovative transnational project is being developed and will be delivered on a pilot basis if European funding is secured. It aims to develop new methods of training managerial staff in the industry and allow for pan-European recognition of qualifications. See www.vocmat.com

Study Visits
Euto supports this sharing of experiences with study visits, open to all members and other interested tourism professionals. At the end of September 2007, in Latvia, Euto will lead, along with Tourist Board Training , Scotland, and Latturinfo, the Latvian hosts, a week-long study visit that is being supported by the Leonardo da Vinci programme. The subject of this exchange visit will be Sustainable Tourism Across Europe Developing Sustainable Destinations.

The workshops will be addressed by a series of high profile speakers focusing on sustainable tourism development and presenting Case Studies based on successful examples in Latvia and elsewhere in Europe, demonstrating their effect on Tourism Economies.

Accompanying the business sessions will be an interesting Working Programme featuring a number of Study Visits to attractions and tourist destinations in the region.

In recent years, Study Visits have been made to Malta, Estonia and Iceland and experts’ presentations and participants’ reports can be found here
